I'd had a rough couple of days leading up to the BJ53+ filming. In fact, I was supposed to only take a couple of hours off work and return and work late to accommodate for the filming. I actually ended up feeling so rubbish that I called in sick - not so much physically sick, but emotionally sick. The thought of a day at the office, knowing of what I was dealing with there and having to put aside a recent development which shattered me, I couldn't handle it.
I know a couple of people noticed that I was quiet and not myself. I wanted the BJ53+ filming to try and put me at ease - especially since the BJ53 filming was such a disappointing experience for me personally.
We filmed the warmup, and Gandalf was in One Of Those moods. He normally doesn't get that silly at filming time, but he was hilarious. It's a shame that this run of the filming won't make it on the DVD, because it was so insanely funny.
I know that there's been some debate on the forums about revealing of tracklists before its launch date; one argument being that it's useful to know what songs are in the release so that clubs can prepare for launches.
Well, I can reveal something about this release that is ALL you need to know to prepare for launches. And it won't involve revealing a single song from the release, never mind an entire tracklist.
Behold!

THE KANYE GLASSES.
Seriously folks, shape your releases around these glasses. If there's a way that you can hand them out to participants at launch, or encourage them to get them for launch, DO IT. G puts these on partway through the release in response to a bunch of participants having worn them in the filming masterclass.
You can get them in all sorts of colours.

Each member of your launch team can have their own colour glasses, and coordinate their outfit around it. G put on purple ones, though there's heaps that you can choose from. I can imagine a team of three wearing say, purple white and black ones and then wearing purple, white and black outfits.
So, how does the Plus of this release rate?
One plus option in particular is freaking awesome. But again, my concern is that there's not enough plus options. I really do think that there needs to be more, and there needs to be harder options. I had heard about some of the plus options and was excited to see them, but then found out they had been removed.
I think the different versions are a great idea, though there needs to be more. Much more.
Maybe I feel a bit more strongly about this since BJ53 and I are not the best of friends (my own personal opinion - there were others around me that were ranting about it being the best ever... and I must say, I was on the hunt for a lot of songs straight away), though I don't think it would hurt that much to include more options. I think G would have lot more fun adding in more complexity anyways. (But what do I know, I'm just a member. Not even an instructor).
I did finish up the filming a bit quieter than normal, and it was sadly, a very apt way to round up these filmings. I hope that I feel more like my old self next quarter, I really do.

Hey girl!
I'm a dutch jammer and frequently readin' your blog about the ins & outs. I'm sensing a bit of a "down mood" on your side.... Sorry for that! Hope you feel a bit more positive soon! Take care, thnx for the update
Yeah this round of filmings was different - wasn't quite in that same equilibrium that I'm normally in. (with the exception being BP74 and RPM47). I'm sure that in upcoming releaes I'll regain that enthusiasm. :-)
I'm going to be in Holland later this year, I can't wait!
Nice!!! Are you going to be at any quarterlies? If you do so, you should sign up for the Mega Quarterly...MADNESS. Especially the party afterwards:)
I don't think I'll be there for any quarterlies this time - though I've heard stories about Megakwartaal and it's definitely on my list of must do's! I think I can only do it if I'm an instructor though, of at least 2 programmes? I'll have to correct that minor issue first ;-)
That's just FF's stupid rule about the 2 programmes... I can always intro you, so does that mean you're coming back next year?! :P
If I can get a good flight, why not? :-D
Sorry you are still so down...when you are feeling better... I'd love more details about the release itself. Not teh tracklist but moves or the style of the blocks ;)
Feel better soon.
Hi,
Just read you're going to visit our little rainy country..wow, that's great! Im a dutch BJ and BP instructor and always read your filming experiences and other (very) nice to know details (esp when it comes to BJ presenters Im very interested to hear your comments!!).
Without wanting to be nosy...what brings to you holland? There is not so much to see...
As for the BJ53 filming, I hope you're feeling better now..I was actually excited to see you on the BJ52 DVD, thinking: there she is!! :-)
Shimi - Even disclosing the style of blocks gets me into trouble, however, there is one particular release that I think instructors should not mix with before launching BJ53. If anyone is interested to know, email me, Facebook message, or send me a private message on my LM profile.
Anon - Hahaha, in the same boat, I don't think there's much in Auckland to see, yet people keep coming here! :-P My good friend Rose lives in Amsterdam, and she's been down this side of the world twice now, so it's only fair that I return the favour ;-)
raina, i can help you if you want to join MEGAKWARTAAL! no worries!! :)
xx lashandra
Sweeeeeeeet Lashandra! I'll have to make sure that when I next come over that I time it with Megakwartaal :-D
