Now, Body Jam.
Gandalf took us through the new warmup for 47 - which is the next Dance4Life track.

The recovery track is quite interesting in terms of choreography - there's a lot of levels.
Now, comes the insane part of the class. I couldn't believe my luck when Gandalf cranked out the last block of 34 - my all time favourite release! However, Gandalf started with the up-rock instead of the and-one, and rather loudly, I said, "Oh!", in surprise. He said to me, "It's the remix, it's the remix", then tried to do this funky thing with the stereo but instead, ended up rewinding the track all the way to the beginning. He then admitted that he'd gotten the choreography wrong and was trying to cover it up. OOPS!
This happened a couple more times during the block, and at one point he said in my general direction, "Why don't I just NOT TAKE THE CLASS THEN, come on up here and take it yourself!" Hmmm, when I type it out it sounds like he was being aggressive, but he wasn't, it was quite funny.
As the choreography went on, Gandalf swapped one of the moves out for something different - we were all confused and were whacking each other; it was almost like being back in our first Jam class all over again. Then, Gandalf stopped the music and added on a new move to the end of the choreography.
That's only PART of the crazy.
When we started off on the last few runthroughs of the choreography, Gandalf's face suddenly lit up and he said, "Why don't we do the whole routine ON THE OTHER LEG!"
Everyone in the class went, "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!!?!?"
And so, we started the choreography on the other leg, felt completely strange, clumsy, and it really was like all of us were back in our first Jam class. There were collisons a-plenty, lots of confusion, but most of all, lots of fun.
I'm going to leave this post up for the next couple of days so that people can listen to the Waters of March remix, but the memory of this class will definitely last longer than a couple of days. It quite possibly is one of the most memorable Jam classes that I've ever been to.

Wow, thanks for the sneak peek/listen! *fabulous* I've been praying for a long Latin block for some time now, and it seems G has responded with a Club Latin block!
Is the Latin block very long? As in that's the only thing for the first half?
It's about as long as the Shaka Khan block in 43 - it's long-ish, but not massively long. At the same time, I think there is something else that should be in the first half of 47, I don't think Gandalf showed it to us in this class.
Maybe I'll get another look in upcoming classes :-)
I have a question! Your current workout regimes seem extremely intense. I've been exercising for about 4 months, and I've gone through your archives to 2006 and found that you started in a very similar way.
How long did it take you to ramp up the exercise to current levels? How did you get into the running, specifically?
Oh my! Well at least you had fun. Perhaps the crazy that Gandalf shows in his normal classes is part of why Jam is so awesome in its final form. :)
boobsihazthem - With how I got into the running, if it weren't for my personal trainer, I would've never contemplated it. One day during a session, I was on the treadmill and he said, "We're going to run!" and increased the speed before I had a chance to object. Definitely the exercise levels ramped up once I became a member of the gym in October 2006, and even moreso when I started doing RPM in March 2007. In the first four months of exercise I did, it felt like pretty mediocre stuff, and what I'm doing now is as far away as you can get from there - it takes time, perseverence, a bit of faith, and most importantly, desire!
Noelle - Hahhah, indeed, I had fun. And I agree with you, the crazy makes the Jam :-D
