My Sexy Back

Plan

  • 60min Walk
Actual
  • Walk-Run Intervals
    • 60mins
Calories burned = 530

Have you ever been surrounded by exercisees who are so focused and determined; you can tell that they really take their training seriously and push themselves hard - when they exercise, they're absolutely drenched in sweat.

I am insanely jealous of these people. Whenever I'm in Body Combat or Body Jam or heck, just in the cardio theatre, I see these people who finish their workouts and have sweat all down the back of their clothes. I have never been drenched in sweat before. I've exercised intensely, and yes, I do sweat, but I have never experienced the drenched-in-sweat feeling. Generally when I have a hard workout, I sweat in two places.
  1. My hair
  2. My feet
I know I'm working hard when I feel my hair start to get sweaty; particularly at the back near my neck. And there is the confirmation that I've worked hard when I take my shoes off and see the poor suckers on my feet soaking wet.

So when I decided to give a go at a walk-run-recovery interval workout, I knew that I was going to work hard. What I didn't know was that I'd be pushing myself harder than I'd ever gone before, and that the sweat would prove it.

Here's the tracklist I used - the tracks I've highlighted in red are the run tracks, the ones in purple are the recovery, and the ones at the end in blue are the cooldown tracks.

After about 45 minutes into the workout, I touched my face. I was totally taken aback by how it felt. It felt slippery, rather than greasy. There was just so much sweat on my face that I didn't know how to react to it.

The real wake up call was when I got off the treadmill. I saw myself in the mirror and nearly fell over in shock.

What did I see?

I present to you...

MY SEXY BACK

Sweat! ON MY BACK! And to confirm, compressing these photos means that these photos don't show anywhere near as much sweat as there actually was. I got a sweat-sy back!

And now, ladies and gentlemen, I represent to you, my tribute to my sweaty-sy back, my parody of Justin Timberlake along with all things weight loss related, my acknowledgement of my running effort...

Verse 1
I got a sweat-sy back
Them other workouts; I just put up an act
I think its special, see whats on my back
So turn around and you'll see I won't be slack

Take 'em to the fridge!

Bridge
Hungry babe
If you see me snacking its because I crave
Let me have whipped cream if I misbehave
It’s just that no one makes me feel this way

Take 'em to the chorus

Chorus
Run here girl - Go ahead, and run with it
Run to the back - Go ahead, and run with it
VIP - Go ahead, and run with it
Carrots on me - Go ahead, and run with it
Let me see what you’re cooking with - Go ahead, and run with it
Look at those chips - Go ahead, and run with it
You make me smile - Go ahead, and run with it
Go ahead child - Go ahead, and run with it
And get your sweat-sy on - Go ahead, and run with it

Get your sweat-sy on - Go ahead, and run with it [Repeat 6 times]
Get your sweat-sy on

Verse 2
I got a sweat-sy back
Them other workouts; I just put up an act
Come let me make up for the things they lack
'Cause I'm running up, I gotta get there fast

Verse 3
I got a sweat-sy back
You hungry beggars watch how I attack
If that’s your cheese you better watch your back
Cause I'll run it up for me and that’s a fact

HAHA lol Brilliant.

Inspired post.
I gotta admit though, marshy you are the only one I've heard revel in being sweaty..

Is it true that the fitter you get the quicker you start to sweat? It seems counterintuitive. If it is true maybe we can expect a whole album.. "sweat me a river?"

I hope you know now that song has forever taken on new meaning for me.I just hope I dont break into song aloud anyplace with "sweaty back",I would think that would be embarassing.

I love it! I'll never think of that song the same again. I especially love the "carrots on you" line.

OMG, hilarious. Well done! I'm impressed.

I like sweating (in the gym... outside not so much). So I can definitely empathise.

That's great Mashy! You really made my day with that song. :-)

Now I have a new goal, to get a sweaty back when I exercise!!!

ROFLMAO! You go girl. Justin Timberlake eat your heart out, you could so make that a track for every girl ever going to the gym! I'd sure as hell buy it.

Very proud of your sweaty back. Was it just the best feeling in the world?

Sorry for lack of comments. Work has decided that commenting on blogger blogs is not on and it's kinda firewalled (BUT AHA I have worked around it......)

Now that is just too funny...lol. I loved it and thankyou so much for the laugh :)

I can also empathise with the girls on the bus post. Public transport when you are big is a total nightmare. I know on my last trip to Australia, I had to use the extender for the seatbelt, it was a total nightmare.

Keep up the good work :)

Hugs,
Sharon

That's funny, marshmallow. I have that on my playlist and I'm sure I'll think of you and your song when I hear it. Way to go on the sweaty back! Sometimes I'll do intervals training and I'll get that sweaty and think I need to conitinue to do that to burn more calories.
Also, read the 'girl on the bus' below and that was very kind of you to move to the back of the bus. I can only image what that girl was feeling and the relief that I'm sure you brought to her!

OMG! That's absolutely brilliant!!!!! Do you mind if I put a link to this post in my next write-up so everyone else gets to read of your brilliance?!
