If you ain't gonna swim, get outta my way

Plan

  • Body Jam
  • Swimming with Sarah-I
Actual
  • Swimming with Sarah-I
    • 40 lengths
Calories burned = 288

I got NO SLEEP. NO SLEEP, people. I was absolutely exhausted by the time 9am rolled around and I was in absolutely no state to get up, get behind the wheel, and then put myself through an hour of Body Jam. And THEN be alive enough to do 40 lengths with Sarah-I!

So, I skimped out on the Body Jam in favour of more sleep.

Did I get it?

NO!

I kept on getting interrupted by people talking loudly outside, people with chainsaws, people blowing up stuff (they might as well have been); I did not get any decent sleep at all.

Somehow, I did manage to get out of bed, and then managed to get through 40 lengths with Sarah-I. Though I confess, I did have to cut out all breastroke from the swimming sessions since my calves were in no state to be able to do the frog kick.

There was one point where we were a little bit crowded in our lane. Sarah-I and I are fairly considerate swimmers, and if we're in the same lane as someone faster than us, then we'll try and juggle our way around them so that we're not interrupting their swimming. That is of course, if there isn't another lane for us to scoot over to.

We don't mind the crowding if other people are swimming. What irritates us is when people hang about in the lane and are just talking. Such was the case today. At one end of the pool, there was one girl in our lane who was standing around, casually talking to her friend who was in the other lane. Sarah-I and I must've done 6 lengths in the time that this girl stood there, in everyone's way. After doing that number of lengths without her having moved at all, Sarah-I finally got irritated enough to politely ask the girl to move into the same lane as her friend since she was severely holding up traffic. Oh the evil look that the girl gave Sarah-I. But hey, she moved, and the rest of us were able to carry on swimming much better.

Two thirds of the way there, we are! 45 next week, eeee!

[Edit] - The ONE Body Jam class I miss turns out to be the very class that Carla returns to teaching. DAMMIT. DAAAAAAAAAAMEEEEEEEEEEEET! *breaks things*
